Interior Pest Treatment Prep Guide
How to Prepare for Interior Pest Treatment
Interior pest treatments target ants, roaches, spiders, silverfish, and other household pests. A few minutes of prep helps the technician reach the areas where pests hide and breed.
1. Clear Access to Baseboards and Edges
Move furniture, rugs, and items away from baseboards, cabinet edges, and wall junctions in affected rooms. Pests travel along edges and hide in cracks — the technician needs to treat these surfaces directly.
2. Store Food and Personal Items
Move food, dishes, utensils, toothbrushes, pet bowls, and small personal items away from treatment areas. Store open food in sealed containers or in the refrigerator.
You don’t need to empty every cabinet — just clear items away from edges and surfaces that will be treated.
3. Secure Pets
Keep pets secured before the technician arrives. Fish tanks should be covered and air pumps turned off during treatment if the tank is in a treated room. Ask your technician if you have specific concerns.
4. Stay Out of Treated Areas Until Dry
After treatment, stay off treated surfaces until they are fully dry — typically 1–2 hours. Your technician will give specific re-entry instructions based on the products used.
Tell Us Where Activity Is Worst
If pest activity is concentrated in a specific room, cabinet, or area, let us know before the visit so the technician can prioritize it. Photos are helpful — text them to us anytime.
What to Expect After Treatment
- Some pest activity may increase briefly after treatment as pests are flushed from hiding spots. This is normal and indicates the treatment is working.
- Results improve over the first 1–2 weeks as the product reaches deeper harborage areas.
- Avoid mopping or deep-cleaning treated baseboards and edges for at least 2 weeks after service.
