Fair question. In Southwest Florida, by the time you spot a roach in the kitchen or ghost ants on the counter, there's usually a colony somewhere you can't see. Our humidity, rainy season, and slab-on-grade homes keep pests active all 12 months.

What a quarterly visit does:

• Renews the exterior treatment before sun and rain wear it down
• Catches entry points — weep holes, soffit gaps, slab cracks — before anything moves in
• Covers you between visits: on a recurring plan, if covered pests show up, we come back free

If you're pest-free right now, that's the easiest time to start. We're maintaining, not chasing.

Because Florida has no off-season. Warm, wet weather keeps ants, roaches, and spiders active year-round, and exterior treatments wear down in the sun and rain. Recurring visits renew that protection, catch new entry points, and adjust to what's active each season — ghost ants in the rainy months, rodents moving indoors in the cooler ones. The first service knocks the population down. Recurring visits keep it down.

For your first pest control visit, yes. We walk the property with you, look at problem spots, and treat inside. After that, most pest visits are exterior, so you don't need to be home; if a visit includes interior work, we'll set a time with you. Lawn service happens outdoors, so you don't need to be home for any lawn visit. Either way, you get a digital service report with photos when we're done.

You can handle a lot yourself: seal gaps, fix leaks, pull mulch back from the foundation. A pro earns the fee in the parts that are easy to get wrong. That means identifying the exact species (ghost ants and fire ants need opposite approaches), choosing products that won't scatter a colony, and getting into attics and soffits. On a recurring plan, we also come back free if pests return. Store-bought repellent sprays often push ants and roaches deeper into the walls instead of ending the problem.

Usually one of three: Indian meal moths (small moths, plus webbing in grain or cereal), rice weevils (tiny beetles with a snout, in rice and pasta), or flour beetles (small reddish-brown beetles in flour and baking mixes). Throw out infested food, vacuum the shelves, and move dry goods into sealed containers. If they keep coming back after a thorough clean-out, call us and we'll track down the source.

The first visit covers both: we treat what's active indoors and set up protection outside. After that, recurring visits focus on the exterior — the perimeter, eaves, and entry points — because that's where most Florida pests come from. If you need an inside treatment between visits, we'll come back for that too, free on a recurring plan.

That's normal for the first week or two. The treatment disturbs hidden nests and flushes pests into the open before it takes full effect, so you may see more before you see fewer. If activity hasn't dropped after about two weeks, call us. On a recurring plan, the re-treat is free.
