How the Program Works

We install Trelona ATBS annual bait stations in the soil around the perimeter of your home. Trelona’s active ingredient, novaluron, is a chitin synthesis inhibitor delivered in an always-active bait matrix — stations are working from the day they go in, not waiting for a monitoring hit to be “activated.” Foraging termites find a station, feed, and carry bait back to the colony; subterranean termite colonies are typically eliminated 3–6 months after they begin feeding on in-ground bait stations.

Station count is set by your home’s actual perimeter — a courtyard villa and a large estate home need different coverage, so no two programs are identical. Every quarterly visit checks each accessible station and lands in your service report: station condition, activity found, bait consumption, cartridge replacements.

There’s no winter dormancy for termites in Southwest Florida, which also means there’s no wrong season to start — cooler months are actually ideal timing for a preventive installation, ahead of the spring swarm season (April–June) when most homeowners first discover a problem.

Buy Your Stations, or Rent Them — Your Call

Most of the industry only offers one of these. We offer both, priced side by side on the same estimate:

Buy the stations. One installation charge, and the hardware is yours permanently. Your ongoing rate covers the quarterly service — the inspections, the bait, the documentation. If you ever end the program, the stations stay in your yard. Lowest long-run cost.

Rent the stations. Nothing up front — we install the full program at no charge and recover the hardware through the recurring rate, which runs higher than an owned program’s. We retain ownership of the stations, and if you end the program, we remove them. It’s not a payment plan — the rental rate continues for as long as the program runs. What it buys you is protection in the ground today with zero capital outlay.

The Warranty Layer: an Annual Renewable Bond

Termite coverage in Florida works on an annual renewable warranty, and ours is no different: your initial treatment includes the first year of warranty coverage, under either ownership structure. Renewing it each year is what keeps the warranty in force, and your signed termite agreement spells out the covered structures and coverage terms. One thing we’ll never claim: “permanent” termite protection. No honest program offers protection that outlives an active, renewed warranty.

Builder Warranty Expiring? You Have Options

Florida’s building code requires new homes to be protected against subterranean termites at construction, and that builder-provided coverage is time-limited — it often expires just a few years after closing. If the renewal letter just landed, know this: the incumbent’s renewal is one option, not the only one. Any licensed operator can protect the home going forward, under either ownership structure — including the little-to-nothing-up-front shape those builder programs made familiar.

Where Bait Stations Are the Wrong Tool

Straight talk: in-ground bait stations target subterranean termites — the soil-dwelling species that dominates inland Southwest Florida. Drywood termites, more common on the coastal barrier islands, live entirely inside the wood and never touch a soil station. Drywood activity needs a different treatment path, and severe infestations may need tent fumigation, which Waves doesn’t perform — we’ll identify what you actually have and point you to the right solution, even when it isn’t us.
